Sport for everyone
Villars is proud of the numerous sporting activities it offers.
More than 300 km of sign-posted walks and excursions between
the Rhone Valley and the glacier of Les Diablerets are bound
to satisfy any tourist.
Details can be found under "walks".
For "cooling down": the ice-rink or the swimming
pool (outdoor, but covered) with a water-slide, will make
the choice difficult.
For
those who like to bake in the sun, large lawn areas await
you. The indoor restaurant with bay-windows overlooking the
ice-rink will allow you to watch the skaters and hockey-players...
while eating a delicious fondue (Swiss cheese speciality).
In the basement of the building, you will find a bowling alley
with 6 lanes, a bar, pool tables and various electronic games
for your enjoyment.
The Tennis Center has 3 indoor and 5 outdoor courts, as well
as 2 squash courts. A fitness room and a coffee bar arre also
available in this center. Other tennis courts can be rented
in town.
The
18 hole golf course, located on a south slope facing the Alps
and the Mont-Blanc will charm you by its beautiful setting.
Visitors to the Golf Club will find comfort and all necessary
amenities in the luxury Club House: reception desk, pro-shop,
locker-room, etc. and an excellent restaurant. Outside practice
range (partly covered), and chipping and putting greens are
available to warm-up or to practice. Private lessons can also
be arranged. For details, visit our website.
Other
18 hole golf courses within a 1 hour drive include: Montreux
(open all year long), Evian, Blumisberg, Bonmont, Lausanne,
Gland, Lavaux, Gstaad, Verbier, Crans.
Horse-riding
lessons, excursions, as well as "barouche"?? carriage
rides are possible. Several mountain bike itineraries with
various degrees of difficulty will allow you to discover the
area riding a bike at your own pace.
Paragliding:
two-seater flights, initial flights and certificate flights.
Mountain
climbing: (climbing or walking) very wide choice in the different
lengths and altitudes makes it available for everyone to enjoy.
A climbing wall is also available in the tennis court area.
Many
activities can also be enjoyed at Glacier des Diablerets 3000:
skiing, of course, "snow-park" ?? taking a trip
on the snow-bus or on a dog-sleigh, wondering along some trails
and discovering the "via ferrata".
Aigle, in the valley, is home to the "World Cycle Center"
(controler le terme exact en Anglais) where visitors can often
watch a team or two training. Contact www.uci.ch
